Spring is in the air, at least here in Seattle. With the birds singing, the frogs croaking, the flowers blooming, the trees budding and the temperature outside warming, it’s time to start thinking about heading outdoors.
The sunny weather inspired me to try my grapefruit infused vodka. I made it when I was on vacation in the California desert. This cocktail puts it to perfect use. Next weekend, especially if the weather continues to look sunny and warm, make my Spring Road Trip Cocktail.
- 2 ounces grapefruit vodka
- 1 ounce simple syrup
- 1 ounce fresh grapefruit juice
- 2 dashes blood orange bitters
- Shake all ingredients in a shaker and then pour contents into a highball glass with the ice and top off with more ice if needed. Garnish with a wedge of grapefruit.
