This St. Patrick’s Day, I want to celebrate with a classic cocktail rather than the traditional dark bear. Of course, Irish whiskey may be the next more Irish drink. This year, I’ll be drinking an Irish whiskey sour made with my homemade four citrus sour mix.
You’re sure to find the pot o’ gold at this end of the rainbow with this traditional drink with a modern twist.
- 1 grapefruit
- 2 naval oranges
- ½ cup fresh lime juice
- 1 ½ cups fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup white sugar
- Irish whiskey
- Sour mix
- Combine all of the sour ingredients in a saucepan and simmer just until the sugar is fully dissolved; let cool.
- In an old fashioned glass filled with ice, pour 2 ounces of Irish whiskey and then top with 4 ounces of the sour mix and stir.
