Cupid’s Arrow

Cupid's Arrow Cocktail

Every holiday must have its own cocktail and Valentine’s Day is no exception. This year, I’ve created the perfect cocktail for two. It was just revealed that bourbon and whiskey are becoming more popular than vodka. So, it seems fitting that this Valentine’s Day, I’m sharing my first bourbon based cocktail, the Cupid’s Arrow.

This recipe makes just enough for two, so it’s perfect for you and your special someone.

how good is that

Ingredients
  1. 1 ounce bourbon
  2. ½ ounce triple sec
  3. ½ ounce raspberry simple syrup*
  4. Orange peel
  5. Raspberries for garnish
  6. Sparkling wine
To make
  1. In a martini shaker, combine bourbon, triple sec, raspberry simple syrup and ice. Shake. Divide bourbon mixture between two champagne flutes or coupes. Rim the glass with the orange peel so that orange oils are released. Top off each glass with sparkling wine and garnish with a raspberry!
Notes
  1. *For Raspberry simple syrup: Combine ½ cup raspberries, ½ cup water, and ¼ cup sugar in a saucepan. Stir and bring mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Smash the raspberries as they break down and simmer until all the sugar has dissolved. Strain the mixture so that you have a nice clear, red syrup. Chill.
