I had a test kitchen session at my house over the weekend with friends. Pomegranate was the theme. And believe me when I say, we came up with some winning recipes! I’ll share them in the coming weeks.
I came up with this recipe for a Pomegranate Manhattan on the fly and this cocktail really set the tone for our cooking session. It’s got everything you love about a good Manhattan and Bourbon is still the star of the drink. But the pomegranate gives the cocktail an extra layer of flavor that mixes perfectly with the other ingredients.

- 2 ounces bourbon
- 1 ounce pomegranate juice
- 1/2 ounce sweet vermouth
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- Shake all of the ingredients over ice in a cocktail shaker. To serve, pour into a martini glass.
