Every good party has to have a signature cocktail. I always ask that guests bring wine or their drink of choice to my parties. I also have the signature cocktail ready so my guests can have a festive drink as soon as they arrive.
I knew I wanted a cocktail for my Chinese-themed garden party that had a great ginger flavor. I found a terrific Portland ginger liqueur and it’s the star of my Ginger Dragon. The ginger is what gives this basic cocktail a great bite!
I prefer my Ginger Dragon just the way I wrote the recipe, but it’s very easily made sparkling with the addition of ginger ale (which gives fizz and extra sweetness), club soda just for the fizz or even tonic water which gives fizz and another bite.
(Our friend Mason gave the Ginger Dragon a thumbs up!)
Even if you are not having a Chinese-themed party, try a Ginger Dragon. It’s a refreshing summer cocktail, and the spice from the ginger will make it work year ‘round, even in the colder months.
- 2 ounces vodka
- 2 ounces limeade
- ½ ounce ginger liqueur
- optional, ginger ale, club soda or tonic
- In a glass, add the vodka, limeade and ginger liqueur. Top it off with ice and any fizzing addition you like!
